LOVE ETERNAL is an atmospheric, narrative-heavy horror platformer. The game follows Maya, a suburban child stolen from her family by a lonely god. Maya must struggle to escape an ancient castle enclosed completely by chain mesh and bars. The horrifying secret of Maya’s new prison is slowly revealed through seamlessly-integrated cutscenes in a hand-drawn pixel art style.Once per jump, Maya can reverse gravity and “fall” upwards. The platforming in the game revolves around mastering this deceptively simple mechanic to traverse a massive ruin filled with spikes, lasers, switches, and traps.
LOVE ETERNAL begins straightforwardly, but builds to some very unexpected places.
